Glass Fusion Scraps Abstract

We are offfering students the option of creating one 6"x8" suncatcher or a set of three skinny panels to create a windchime. This is generally separate classes but the lecture is similar, so we decided to offer the option!

This is a great class to help with getting out of our box and invite a bit of random chaos into our art experience. Abstract art can be fun, using scraps of glass to create a suncatcher or windchime with transparent and opaque fusible glass. Millifiore, stringers, vitrograph, dichroic and Donna’s baubles will all be available. Students will also use fiber paper to allow for stringing fishing line and beads after these pieces are fired. A lecture on the science of glass followed by a glass cutting demo will get students ready to nip, cut and glue fusible glass scraps and create unique suncatchers.
