Natural + Man-made Materials in Mosaic

We are excited to host Seattle mosaic artist Kelley Knickerbocker for a double header October 15/16th and 17/18th. 

Natural + Man-made Materials in Mosaic is Thursday/Friday, October 15/16th, 10am-5pm each day.

Tuition: $395 ($345 if also registering for Apoxy Sculpt in Mosaic)

As you design and create a mixed-media mosaic, you'll learn to effectively choose/preserve/enhance natural materials, harmonize and contrast them with the properties of glass and crockery, and set them directly into cement mortar for a more durable end product. All skill levels welcome.

There's something compelling about combining nature- and human-made materials in mosaic. Doing so challenges the traditional notion of mosaic as a strictly hard-material medium and provides a context for considering humanity's  place on the ephemeral/durable continuum. Students are invited to bring any natural materials they've been hankering to use in mosaic.
