Resin Plank or Canvas

This workshop taught by in-house artist Donna Smit will guide students through a mindful creative process reusing planks of wood to create a one of a kind, dimensional piece of hanging art. Planks will be painted in acrylic paint prior to class to allow drying time. Students will learn to break bottles, vases, and cups to create a unique design. Students will have access to a wide variety of materials and explore textures and layering.  Crash glass, stained glass, and even plastic can be used to create beautiful artwork. Vintage jewelry can be used as well and students are encouraged to bring baubles from home. Resin will be the final process and will cover the entire piece. Pieces need to be left at the studio to dry for a couple of days. Each plank will have alligator brackets installed for ready to hang. Size is approximately 5" x 18". (Option to create on an 8x10 canvas as well)

Masks are optional for this class.
